Baking Soda - a 'Must Have'
Always take with you a small film container filled with baking soda. It's great for treating an unexpected tooth pain - just mix a teaspoon with a half teaspoon of salt, dissolve in a glass of water, and rinse the mouth well for 3-4 minutes. It's a natural and harmless way to ease the pain until you get to the dentist's. You can also add a drop of iodine in the glass, if you have it.

Bubble Wrap Anyone?
What to do with that bubble wrap? Pack it for wrapping breakables.

Creative Suitcase Nesting
When traveling to a destination where I know I will doing a lot of shopping, I pack a collapsible suitcase or duffel bag in my checked luggage. It doesn't take up much room and when returning home, I fill it with my dirty laundry and pack my new stuff or any breakable items in my regular suitcase. Or you could just pack your things in a medium suitcase that fits inside a larger suitcase - either way you'll have two suitcases available and only have to carry one to your destination.

Get Rid of It!
Make sure that you have no excess baggage. Get rid of old claim checks and outdated identification tags before you travel. Also take off shoulder straps, add-a-bag straps, hanging hooks, and anything else that could get ripped or knocked off during a flight, if you are checking your luggage.

Leave the Old Clothes Behind
Collect old clothes throughout the year - I have a box just for that purpose - wear them and leave them behind. This is a great use for stuff that didn't sell at your last rummage sale - and benefits the people of the country you're visiting. Just be sure to leave a note for the maid if you leave the stuff in your room - she might not be able to keep them if she can't prove you intended to leave them behind. In more developed countries, look for a charity shop. In England I took a huge bag of stuff to the local Oxfam Shop at the end of my trip and they were thrilled to get it. I did a good deed and had lighter luggage - and no stinky laundry to do when I got home!

Pack Some Facial Wipes
I would recommend Lever 2000 anti-bacterial wipes. They are great for hands and face.

Bachelorette Superstore Tip
It's important to keep in mind that not all bachelorettes want a wild and kinky party. Bachelorette parties can be a disaster if the bride only wants to run away and hide from all the attention. Some brides put their foot down from the start to prevent any misunderstandings, but this doesn't mean that all recognition of her bachelorette status has to be avoided on the night out. The good news is that bachelorette party supplies sell more than inflated penises and tiaras. Check out your local party suppliers or go on line for low-profile party supplies like themed bachelorette party drink koozies or shot glasses, and PG-rated bachelorette party games and decorations.
Good Quotes for Bachelorette Invitations
Your bachelorette party is all about you leaving your single life behind to join with another human being. Your bachelorette invitation is a good opportunity to let your friends know your personal thoughts on this event, and this can be done no better than by putting a favorite quote on the invite as an opening message.
If you don't have a favorite quote, here are some handy and witty quotes to use on your bachelorette invitations:
'Marriage is the triumph of imagination over intelligence. (Second marriage is the triumph of hope over experience.)'
'Marriage is not a word; it is a sentence.'
'There is no more lovely, friendly and charming relationship, communion or company than a good marriage.'
Martin Luther
'A light heart lives long' – William Shakespeare
'Three things can't be hidden – coughing, poverty, and love' – Yiddish proverb
"It does not matter what you do in the bedroom as long as you do not do it in the street and frighten the horses." - Mrs. Patrick Campbell
' When you are courting a nice girl an hour seems like a second. When you sit on a red-hot cinder a second seems like an hour. That's relativity.' –Albert Einstein

Bachelorette Superstore Tip
Sometimes you can get more ideas for your unique bachelorette party by browsing the ideas other parties have used. Check out party supplies stores for photos and stories. These things can give you ideas for a general theme of the party, which you can build on from there. Play her old favorite songs, make her favorite snacks, and give the bride the surprise of her life by making her bachelorette party all about her.
Bridesmaid Duties
Bridesmaids are responsible for organizing the bachelorette party, running errands for the bride and generally being a helping hand as the wedding is organized. Bridesmaids should make themselves available to help organize the bridal celebration and help out with any other tasks the bride wishes to delegate. Although the maid of honor traditionally has seniority, she might be open to suggestions about the bachelorette party.

Bachelorette Superstore Tip
Look online to see what is on offer when it comes to bachelorette party invitations, and you might be surprised by the range and ingenuity of invitations on offer. You'll find playful invitations, sexy invitations, and downright naughty invitations. It's always a good idea to add a personal touch to your bachelorette party invitations, whether it be in the form of some loose confetti or the wording of the invite.
To Strip or Not To Strip
There have been many disagreements in recent years over whether a male stripper is a requirement of a bachelorette party. The idea comes from the tradition of bachelor parties and stag nights, where a female stripper is almost unavoidable. However, it is not every bride's idea of perfection.
It is best to check with the bride before hiring the stripper when planning a bachelorette party. Even if the bachelorette is keen on the idea, she might feel uncomfortable staring at a stranger's crotch in the company of a large group of her friends.
There are plenty of alternatives to strippers, many of them designed to help a woman access her own sensuality. Pole dancing classes are becoming increasingly popular as a party event. Check out salsa classes at your local dance studio, or consider having a lingerie selling party.
Look in your local directories for information on what is available in your area, or get online to chat with other bachelorette party organizers to see what they did.

Bachelorette Superstore Tip
Don't be shy about appropriating New Year's Eve decorations for the party – the overflowing champagne bottles and martini glasses used in New Year's decorations are entirely appropriate for bachelorette party decorations. However, browsing an online bachelorette party supply store will not only help you find must-have bachelorette items like penis shaped balloons. You'll also find great decorating ideas and advice on how to go about holding a bachelorette party.
Gag Gift Ideas
As it is not customary to give a large bachelorette gift on the bachelorette party night, many groups go for gag gifts to add to the fun of the night. These gifts can be naughty, or merely make a joking reference to the bachelorette's soon-to-be status as a wife.
Naughty gifts include penis-shaped baking tins, penis pasta or lolly-pops, edible massage oil and chocolate body paint. Some of these gifts can also be aimed at the honeymoon – naughty lingerie, flavored condoms or a feather tickler are gifts that are sexual but aren't likely to make the bride uncomfortable. If the bride is a bit wilder, consider French tickler condoms, handcuffs, a riding crop or even a vibrator, and enjoy the stunned look on her face!
A Sophisticated Dinner
If drunken revelry is not your bachelorette's style, consider taking her for a feast instead. Find out the bride's food preferences and take her for her favorite cuisine, or go for a more general high-quality restaurant for her bachelorette dinner.
Look for restaurants in the restaurant guide in your local paper (keep an eye out for reviews and recommendations) and tourist information centers. Be sure to call around to see if you can get a good deal if you are bringing a large party, and to see if you can book a private room. Booking somewhere that your group can almost completely take over is preferable to a large, busy restaurant, so don't be shy of the smaller places.
Bachelorette Party Favor Resources
While there are some stores that specialize in bachelorette party supplies, you might not be lucky enough to have one nearby when planning your bachelorette party. Don't worry, there are plenty of alternatives, especially if you are prepared to get a little creative.
Your first stop should be your local resources. Check out non-specific party supplies stores to see if there is anything you can use – keep an eye out for toy tiaras, fairy wings, glitter, bubble blowers, and general party decorations like balloons. Ask the owners of the store whether they can recommend anything for a bachelorette party.
Next, forage in local toy stores and costume shops. Toy stores usually have a large range of dress-up toys that you might be able to use – pay special attention to the girls fairy and tea party sections. Look in costume shops for small items that could be used as gag gifts, such as toy ball-and-chain sets or cupid's arrows.
After this, browse through your internet directory for online bachelorette party supply stores. This does need to be done at least one month before the party date, as you need to allow time for shipping. This is a good way to get the bachelorette-specific items you need – things like that inflatable penis that will make your friend's face turn purple on sight.
Bachelorette Pageant
Picking bachelorette part accessories is a must but they're getting so predictable these days. Bachelorette sashes are commonplace these days. You'll see giggling women dripping with them in more than half of the bachelorette parties out there. Why not reinvent the bachelorette sash? Try making personalized bachelorette sashes that capture the personalities of each guest. You can create your own sashes using wide ribbon and safety pins. As each lady arrives, give her a blank sash to wear. When everyone is in attendance and has had a few predrinks have them all sit in a circle. Then, have each girl stand up one at a time while the other guests spout off name ideas (Miss Prude, Miss Sexual Dynamo, Miss Smart Pants, Miss Gold Digger, etc.). Make sure that the bride-to-be gets a "Miss Bride" sash and a jeweled tiara. Finally, take your pageant to the clubs!
